Gage Hayes has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week ending October 14, 2012. Hayes, a Lakeland, Fla. native, had an impressive 16 total tackles-14 solo and 2 assists in their 37-7 loss to Shorter College on Saturday. Hayes' performance highlighted the AMU defense.

The Gyrenes look forward to their second home game of the season when they face the Eagles of Robert Morris College on Saturday at 12p.m.
