Erin Murphy has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 8th, 2013. The 5-10 senior forward led the Lady Gyrenes to a 2-0 week with victories over Johnson and Wales and Florida College. Murphy, a Altamonte Springs, Fla. native, averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds, and three assists per game on the week. Additionally she finished shooting 83.3% (5-6) from beyond the arc and was a perfect (3-3) from the charity stripe over the two games.
The Green and Blue return to the court after the Christmas break when they host NAIA II No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan for a two game series at the Tom Golisano Field house. Tip off is slated for 3p.m. on December 30th and 1p.m. on December 31st.
