Matt Chattin has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 15th, 2013. The 5-10 guard out of Groveland, Fla. averaged 31 points, five assists, 4.5 rebounds, and three steals for the Green and Blue on the week. First, Chattin had a career night in Ave Maria's 110-82 rout of Florida National as he tallied 41 points on 14-20 from the field and was 7-9 from beyond the arc. He followed the career performance up with a 21 point, six assist effort on Sunday in the Gyrenes 80-72 victory over Milligan (Tenn.).
The Gyrenes return to the court for the final time this semester on Friday when they host RV Marian (Ind.) at the Tom Golisano Field house. Tip-off is slated for 7p.m.
