Wendell Powell has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 9th, 2014. The junior forward averaged 14 points, seven rebounds, and made 10-of-12 from the free throw line to help Ave Maria to a 2-1 week. Powell recorded his second double-double of the season in Saturday's win over Thomas with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Gyrenes are back in action on Thursday when they take on the Southeastern Fire at the Golisano Field house. Tip off is set for 7:30p.m.
