Daniel Spurny has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 16th, 2014. The Passau, Germany native led the Gyrenes to their first win of the season over Southeastern on Saturday by a score of 6-3. Spurny defeated  SEU's Gelawdiyos Haile 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 in the number 1 singles spot and then went on to defeat Southeastern's Dickens/Harris 9-7 with partner Eric Peterson in the number 2 doubles spot.

The AMU Tennis team returns to play on Saturday at Webber International University.
