Cheyenne Benson has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 14th, 2014. The Lakeland, Fla. native led the Green and Blue offensively to a pair of victories over the weekend after finishing 4-for-5 including a grand slam, seven RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base. She blasted a grand slam for her third home run of the season in the top half of the seventh inning in game two against Edward Waters to both tie the game, and put AMU ahead 8-6.
The Lady Gyrenes hit the road for the final time this season when they travel to Warner University on Thursday for a conference doubleheader slated to begin at 1p.m.
