Kingsley Avery has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 5th, 2014. The sophomore outfielder was named 1st team All-Conference at last week's TSC Tournament banquet and proceeded to continue her tear at the plate, hitting .590 (7-12) in the tournament, that included two triples, six runs scored, and two RBI.
The Green and Blue received a bid to the USCAA Small College World Series and will travel to Akron, Ohio from May 11-13 to compete in the National Tournament. AMU enters as a No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Penn State – Hazleton at 2p.m. on Monday.
