Travis Makauskas has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 7th, 2014. The Jacksonville, Fla. native, caught seven passes for 144 yards and one touchdown in the Gyrenes loss to NCAA DII North Greenville. His touchdown reception came on an 83-yard pass and catch from quarterback Clayton Uecker.

AMU takes on another NCAA DII opponent this weekend when they travel to Melbourne, Fla., to take on Florida Tech in a 6 p.m. kickoff.
