Wendell Powell has been selected as Ave Maria’s Co-Male Athlete of the Week ending November 11, 2012. Powell, a sophomore forward out of Palm Coast, Fla., tallied 22 points in the Gyrenes’ two exhibition games this week. First versus NCAA Division I Bethune Cookman, Powell scored 12 points off the bench for the Gyrenes and was 4-6 from the field. Then on Friday versus Lynn University he tallied a team-leading 10 points in just 17 minutes played.
The Gyrenes return to the court on the road, Thursday, in another exhibition matchup against Florida Gulf Coast University. Tip off is set for 7:05p.m.
