Ave Maria

Jelani Bonner has been selected as Ave Maria’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 4th, 2015. This is the fourth time this season that Jelani has received the weekly honor. 

The 6-3 senior scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed five rebounds in the Gyrenes' upset win of 15th-ranked Saint Xavier (Ill.). Bonner was 15-of-20 from the field. 

The Gyrenes are back in action twice this week when they take on Florida National on Monday at 7p.m. before returning to conference play against St. Thomas on Thursday at 7:30p.m.
