Annie Artise has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week ending November, 11, 2012. Artise, a freshman guard out of St. Petersburg, Fla., tallied 37 points in the Lady Gyrenes’ three games this week. Artise had nine points and nine rebounds versus the University of Tampa, followed by the first double-double of her collegiate career in AMU's victory over St, Leo. The freshman finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Lions. She wrapped up the week with a nine point contribution in the Lady Gyrenes loss to Lindenwood University-Belleville on Sunday.
The Lady Gyrenes return to the court, Saturday, in a double-header with the men’s squad at home versus Clearwater Christian.The women’s game tips off at 2 p.m.
