Austin Munn has been selected as Ave Maria’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 22, 2015. This is the third time that Austin has received this honor in his career.

The junior pitcher  gave a stellar performance on his way to his second victory of the season. After giving up a leadoff home run in the first inning to Northwood, Munn settled in and dealt eight consecutive scoreless innings. On the day, the Gyrene right hander racked up thirteen strikeouts while walking only one.

Ave Maria will be back in action Wednesday night when the travel to Eckerd College. First pitch in St. Petersburg is scheduled for 6:30 p.m
