Alyssa Colding has been selected as Ave Maria’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 8, 2015.
The sophomore catcher hit .409 (9-of-22) over seven games this week. She had three doubles, a triple, and a home run. She scored four runs and tallied seven RBI. She went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, and a RBI in the Lady Gyrenes upset of #11 Belhaven on Saturday. She went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI and a walk in AMU's 7-5 win over (RV) Corban (Ore.). Against #1 Auburn-Montgomery she went 2-for-3 with one double, one home run, and two RBIs.
The Lady Gyrenes return to action on Saturday, March 7 where they will take on Edward Waters in Jacksonville, Fla.
