Softball's Kingsley Avery has named this week's Female Athlete of the Week. She has also been named the Sun Conference Player of the week. It's the second time Avery has earned the TSC award and the third time she has been named the Gyrenes Female Athlete of the Week. 

She finished the week batting .583 (7-for-12) over four games this week with one home run, four RBI, and eight runs scored. With three walks, she reached base 10 times over four games and was 5-for-6 on stolen base attempts this week.

Avery currently leads the Sun Conference in batting average (.481), hits (57), triples (5), stolen bases (27), and fielding percentage (1.000). She is second in runs scored (34), fourth in total bases (78), seventh in doubles (8), and seventh in slugging percentage (.672). 

The Lady Gyrenes return to action on the road this week when they travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for a twinbill against conference foe Embry-Riddle. They then return home on Saturday to take on St. Thomas on Senior Day.
