Ave Maria

Ave Maria senior Jelani Bonner was named Ave Maria Athletics 2015 Male Athlete of the Year. Bonner was also the recipient of the 2014-15 Cazzie Russell Champion of Character Award given out by the Sun Conference.

Bonner, a native of Winter Springs, Fla., is also receiving a TSC All-Conference second team honor for the first time in his career. The guard averaged 12.5 points and eight rebounds a game this season for the Gyrenes, both team highs. He also finished with a team high 48 assists and 12 blocks. His 36 steals was second on the team.
