Football’s Tarick Barnes has been named this week's Male Athlete of the Week. It's the first time this season that he has been named the Gyrenes Male Athlete of the Week.
 
Barnes finished with four total tackles, an interception, and four pass breakups in the Gyrenes 30-27 win over Edward Waters on Saturday. His interception came early in the second quarter, he returned the pick 23 yards for a touchdown.
 
AMU returns to the field next Saturday when they travel to West Point, Ga., to take on Point University. The game is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m.
