Women's Basketball's Lauren Gillingham has been named this week's Female Athlete of the Week. She was also named the Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Gillingham averaged 18.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, and four assists over three games last week for Ave Maria. She helped AMU to wins over a pair of NCAA DIII opponents in Emerson College and Pine Manor. Against Emerson, she recorded a career-best 20 rebounds to go along with 11 points and five assists. Against Pine Manor, Gillingham finished with 22 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Lauren shot 50 percent (19-of-38) from the field and 66 percent (6-of-9) from three. She also made 12-of-15 from the free throw line.

The Lady Gyrenes return to the court on Tuesday night when they travel to Boca Raton, Fla., to take on Lynn University in an exhibition game. The game is scheduled to tip at 5:30 p.m.
