Mike Coyle has been selected as Ave Maria’s Male Athlete of the Week ending December 2, 2012. Coyle, a senior forward out of Jacksonville, Fla., tallied 31 points in the Gyrenes’ two conference wins this week. Coyle led the way for Ave Maria, first, in their win over Webber International, scoring 14 points on 6-9 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. On Saturday, in their 87-72 win over Johnson and Wales, he notched his first double-double of the season; finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Gyrenes return to action this Wednesday, December 5th, when they host NAIA #1 Northwood University at the Tom Golisano Fieldhouse. Tip-off is slated for 7p.m.
