Annie Artise has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week ending January 13th, 2013. Artise, a freshman guard out of St. Petersburg, Fla., averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds on the week. She totaled 39 points, 21 rebounds, and five assists in two conference wins for the Lady Gyrenes. She has helped AMU to a perfect 4-0 record within the Sun Conference, winning those four games by an average of 27.8 points. Artise notched her sixth double-double of the season and currently ranks #21 overall in the NAIA for defensive rebounds per game with 6.4.
The Lady Gyrenes return to the court, Friday, when they face off against the Bobcats of No. 17 St. Thomas University at the Tom Golisano Fieldhouse. The game tips off at 7p.m.
