Wendell Powell has been selected as Ave Maria’s Male Athlete of the Week ending January 13th, 2013. Powell, a sophomore forward out of Palm Coast, Fla., tallied 15 points in the Gyrenes lone game of the week. Powell’s team-leading 15 points came in just 24 minutes of play versus Southeastern.

The Gyrenes have a quick turnaround and return to the court, Tuesday, when they host Florida Memorial University. Tip-off is slated for 7:00p.m.
