Kiel Lewis has been selected as Ave Maria's Co-Male Athlete of the Week ending January 27th, 2013. Lewis, a senior guard out of Orlando, Fla., averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, four steals, three assists, and two blocks in the Gyrenes’ two conference wins this week. Lewis, first, had a stat-packed performance in the Gyrenes 70-58 victory over Webber International; finishing the game with 11 points, eight rebounds, five steals, five assists, and four blocks. He then wrapped up the week with 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals in their road win over Johnson and Wales. Lewis is currently #1 in the NAIA in steals per game with 3.56 and #5 in total steals with 64.
The Gyrenes return to the court this week on the road at Florida College on Tuesday, January 29th. Tipoff is slated for 7p.m.
