Ave Maria

Sarah Vinci has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week ending March 3rd, 2013. Vinci, a freshman catcher out of New Philadelphia, Ohio led the Lady Gyrenes at the plate this week. She hit .454 (5-11) with two runs scored and three RBI. The catcher was also even better defensively; she completed all 22 of her chances (17 putouts, 5 assists) and threw out five base-runners on the week.

The Lady Gyrenes return to the field today as they continue play at the Spring Games held at the NTC in Clermont, Fla. They face-off against Lourdes University and the University of St. Francis with games scheduled for 5 and 7p.m.
