Zach Quayle has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week ending March 3rd, 2013. Quayle, a sophomore left-handed pitcher out of Knoxville, Tenn. improved his overall record to 6-0 this week after throwing a complete game shutout on Friday against Thomas University. Quayle struck out an impressive 13 batters and only allowed five hits and one walk to lead the Gyrenes to a 3-0 victory.

The Gyrenes return to the field today when they host Florida Christian College at Bowie's Ballpark. The first pitch is slated for noon.
