Emily Lemin has been selected as Ave Maria's Co-Female Athlete of the Week ending March 10th, 2013. Lemin, a sophomore pitcher from Eastlake, Ohio led the Lady Gyrenes on the mound over the week. She was a perfect 3-0 at the National Training Center, picking up three of the five wins AMU recorded on the week. Over her 17.2 innings pitched-she gave up just two runs, with one of them being unearned, on ten hits and three walks. Additionally she fanned an average of 7.3 batters per game. Lemin improved her record this season to 3-1.
The Lady Gyrenes return to the field this weekend when they host exhibition matchups against Broward College and Pasco-Hernando Community College. The double-headers are slated to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday and at noon on Saturday.
