Kingsley Avery has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week ending March 31st, 2013. Avery, a freshman outfielder out of Auckland, New Zealand was stellar offensively this week for AMU. She led the Lady Gyrenes to two wins batting a hot .857 with two HRs, four runs scored, three RBI, and three stolen bases. The two HRs were the first of her collegiate career. Additionally she recorded a slugging percentage of 1.714 and an on-base percentage of .875 over the week.
The Lady Gyrenes return to the field on Friday when they travel to a neutral site in Polk County to take on USCAA-foe Lindenwood University-Belleville. The first pitch of the double-header is slated for 1p.m.
