Erika Avery has been selected as Ave Maria's Female Athlete of the Week ending April 7th, 2013. Avery, a freshman outfielder out of Auckland, New Zealand led AMU offensively over the last week. She finished batting .600 (3-5) with a RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. Additionally she recorded a .714 on-base percentage over the two games.

The Lady Gyrenes return to conference play on Friday when they host the Warriors of Webber International University. The first pitch of the double-header is slated for 1p.m.
