Lexi Hammerquist has been selected as Ave Maria's Co-Female Athlete of the Week ending April 21st, 2013. Hammerquist and teammate, Eileen Lee, won crucial singles and doubles matches this past week in the Lady Gyrenes first-ever postseason victory. The women's tennis team upset conference-foe St. Thomas University in the quarterfinals of the Sun Conference Championships on Friday, 5-3. Hammerquist helped lead the way by knocking off the #3 singles, (6-4, 6-2) as well as the #2 doubles, (8-5).
