Victoria Johnson has been selected as Ave Maria’s Female Athlete of the Week ending September 1, 2013. Johnson, a sophomore forward out of Woodbridge, Va. recorded her second hat-trick of the season on Wednesday. The Lady Gyrenes defeated Florida Memorial by a final score of 4-1.

The Ave Maria women's soccer team improves to 2-1 on the young season. They return to the field Tuesday when they travel to Clearwater Christian to battle the Cougars in double-header action with the men's squad. The women's game is slated to begin at 4:30p.m.
