Clayton Uecker has been selected as Ave Maria’s Male Athlete of the Week ending September 1, 2013. Uecker, a freshman quarterback out of Akron, Ohio was impressive in his collegiate debut, completing 29-49 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns. The Gyrenes dropped their season-opener versus Robert Morris 34-20.

The Gyrenes return to the gridiron on Saturday when they host Faulkner University at Immokalee High School. Kickoff is set for 1p.m.
