Ave Maria

Hayley Wonka has been selected as Ave Maria’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 17th, 2013. Wonka, a senior from Vero Beach, Fla., tallied a team-leading seven kills and six digs in the Lady Gyrenes 3-0 loss to St. Thomas in the opening round of the Sun Conference Tournament. Additionally she notched the 1,000^th dig of her career earlier on in the week in the regular season finale when AMU dropped a 3-0 decision to Embry Riddle.

The Lady Gyrenes finished the 2013 season with a 6-16 record.
