Men's Soccer Loses To Southeastern In Hard Fought Battle

AVE MARIA, Fla.— The Southeastern University Fire used a pair of first half goals to walk away with a 2-0 victory over the Ave Maria men's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon. This was the last home contest for the Blue and Green for the 2014 season.

Southeastern netted two goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The second goal was scored off of a penalty kick in the 30th minute of play.

Although the Southeastern defense was able to keep AMU off the board, the Gyrenes did tally 15 total shots, nine of which came on goal.

Dan Lomady (Willow Grove, Pa.) and Brandon Rodriguez (Naples, Fla.) each recorded four shots for AMU in the loss.

JC Intriago (Guayaquil, Ecuador) recorded five saves on the afternoon, while Michael O'Donnell (Aurora, Ill.) had two saves in goal for the Gyrenes.

Ave Maria falls to 1-13 overall and to 0-10 in Sun Conference play. The Gyrenes will next take on Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, Nov. 1st. AMU and the Sailfish will kick off at 7 p.m. in West Palm Beach.
