Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.— The Northwood University Seahawks pulled away from the Ave Maria Gyrenes in the second half Saturday afternoon, to walk away with a 5-0 victory. AMU next returns to action on Friday, October 10th when they take on Embry-Riddle.
Northwood got on the board twice in the first half and would take the 2-0 lead with them into halftime.
The Seahawks held their lead through the first 15 minutes of the second half before scoring the first of three second half goals to close out their 5-0 victory.
The Northwood defense was able to keep the AMU offense at bay, holding them to just four shots on goal. Freshman
Juan Carlos Bucaram (Guayaquil, Ecuador) tallied two shots on goal for AMU in the loss.
After Saturday's defeat, Ave Maria drops its record to 1-6 and 0-3 in the Sun Conference. The Gyrenes will next take on Embry-Riddle on Friday, October 10th. AMU and the Eagles will kick off at 3 p.m. from the Ave Maria Soccer Field.
