AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team will compete in the Clearwater Christian College Invitational beginning on Friday in Clearwater, Fla. The Lady Gyrenes will take on Pensacola Christian and Florida College on Friday before taking on Point Park (Pa.) and host Clearwater Christian on Saturday.
 
The Blue and Green begin the invitational against Pensacola Christian on Friday at 2 p.m. This is the first meeting this season between the Gyrenes and the Eagles. At 4 p.m., the Lady Gyrenes will face a familiar foe in Florida College. This will be the third meeting this season between AMU and FC with the Falcons taking the first two meetings, both in four sets.
 
The Lady Gyrenes face Point Park for the first time in program history on Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. Point Park comes into the matchup with a 15-10 overall record. Tabea Dillard who ranks 16th in the NAIA in total service aces with 38 and 28th in total digs with 398 on the season leads Point Park.
 
Ave Maria will then take on host Clearwater Christian at 1:30 p.m. The lady Gyrenes will be looking for their first win against the Lady Cougars in 11 tries.
