AVE MARIA, Fla. – The Ave Maria University Lady Gyrenes open up their home schedule on Saturday, November 8th. Tip off for Saturday's game is at 6:00p.m. at the Tom Golisano field house.
GREEN AND BLUE NEWS:
The Ave Maria University women's basketball team opened the 2014-15 season in Indiana where the Lady Gyrenes went 1-2 on the weekend. They were defeated by the Saints of Holy Cross, 66-62, and St. Francis (Ind.), 86-51. AMU defeated Bethel College 79-75.Senior Madison McDonald led the Blue and Green with 22 points against Holy Cross and 23 points against Bethel. Senior Ashlee Rioux scored a career-high 22 points and also tallied five rebounds and two assists against Bethel. Against St. Francis, Junior Annie Artise led the Blue and Green with 16 points. Her five rebounds tied for the team-high with Junior Yvanessa Vincent and Rioux. McDonald was named TSC Player of the Week for her efforts.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
The Clearwater College Saints finished the 2013-14 season with a 6-15 overall record and 4-4 record against fellow NCCAA II opponents. Head coach, Natalie Wilkinson enters her first season at the helm of the Cougars. Clearwater Christian returns five veterans to the roster and will to be led by sophomore guard Hailey Linville who averaged 15.7 ppg and 5.0 rpg in 2013-14.
The Cougars are currently 0-1 on the season. They were defeated by TSC #1 ranked St Thomas College 80-52. Sophomore returner, Liz Jenkins led the team with 19 points, while Linville had 12 points and five rebounds in the game.
