Men’s Basketball Readies For Pair Of Non-Conference Contests

AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's basketball team (6-4) will host a pair of non-conference contests this week when they welcome Trinity Baptist and Georgia Gwinnett to Tom Golisano Field House. The Gyrenes will take on Trinity Baptist at 7 p.m. on Thursday before facing Georgia Gwinnett at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Live stats and live video will be provided for both games. Live video only will be provided for the Trinity Baptist-Georgia Gwinnett game that will be played on Friday at 4 p.m.
 
The Gyrenes are coming off a 1-1 week that saw them fall to Johnson & Wales (Fla.), 67-55, before defeating Coastal Georgia, 71-49.
 
It was a balanced effort for the Blue and Green against Coastal Georgia as four Gyrenes scored in double-figures led by Exor Torres' 19 points and Jelani Bonner's double-double (16 pts., 13 reb.). Nate Krimsky had a breakout game for AMU, recording a season-best in rebounds (10), points (8), and assists (5).
 
Trinity Baptist comes into the week with a 6-5 overall record. In their previous match this season, the Eagles defeated the Gyrenes 47-44 in Jacksonville. Charles Cooks led the Eagles with 17 points while Tyrell Johnson recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
