Pair of TSC Contests Highlights Three Match Week

AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team looks to get back on track Tuesday night when they travel to St. Thomas. The Blue and Green then host Trinity College on Thursday night before traveling to Miami Gardens to take on Florida Memorial on Saturday.
 
SCOUTING AVE MARIA: AMU dropped three matches last week, falling to Southeastern, Florida College, and Embry-Riddle all at Tom Golisano Field House. Tuesday, the Lady Gyrenes hit the road for the first time since September 2 when they take on St. Thomas. AMU is 0-2 in true road contests this season.

SCOUTING ST. THOMAS: The conference leading St. Thomas Bobcats come into the week with a 12-5 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in TSC play. The Lady Bobcats come in having won six straight matches including a five-set win over Embry-Riddle. Whitney Battoe leads STU with 158 kills on the season. Sydney Maynard leads the team in service aces (15) and digs (206). Samantha Garza's 67 blocks is goof for 14th in the NAIA and Dana Nowaczyk's 547 assists ranks 29th in the NAIA.

SCOUTING TRINITY (FLA.): In their one matchup with a common opponent, Trinity College (Fla.) fell to Northwood in straight sets. Northwood defeated the Lady Tigers 25-10, 25-17, 25-22. Rylee Finger led Trinity with six kills while Sara Preslicka had a team-high eight digs.

SCOUTING FLORIDA MEMORIAL: The Florida Memorial Lions come into the week winless on the 2014 season. The Lions currently sit at 0-5 in TSC play and 0-9 overall. Arasy Guerra leads Florida Memorial with 46 kills on the season. Florida Memorial has played just two home games this season. All nine of the Lions' games have been straight set decisions. The game agaist Florida Memorial will be played at St. Thomas University Gym as the Florida Memorial gym in currently undergoing renovations.
