The Gyrenes will hit the road for just the second time this season, when they begin their two match week on Wednesday versus Johnson and Wales. In their last matchup the Blue and Green were defeated in a tough TSC contest, 1-0 by SCAD. The Gyrene defense will need to continue to step up if AMU is going to finish this week with two victories. On offense the Blue and Green have received scoring from all over the field, with eight different players recording multiple goals on the season.

Opponent: Johnson and Wales University Wildcats
Date: Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Â
Scouting Johnson and Wales (4-3) (1-0 Sun Conference) Head Coach: Phil Zayas (Second Season)Â
The host Wildcats will be looking to build off their impressive win last week over defending conference champions Embry Riddle. The Gyrenes lead the all-time series over JWU, 4-1, with the Wildcats lone win coming last season. If AMU is going to walk away with a win, they are going to have to slow down the JWU duo off Steve Njike and Pedro Codo. Njike and Codo have combined for 11 of the Wildcats 18 goals this season, including both goals in the win over #21 ERAU.
Â
Opponent: Northwood University Seahawks
Date: Saturday, October 4, 2014
Opening Kick: 1 p.m.
Location: Arrigo-Vecellio Soccer Field, West Palm Beach, Fla.
Â
Scouting Northwood Seahawks (2-2) (0-0 Sun Conference)Head Coach: Joe Zakowicz (Second Season)Â
The Gyrenes will be looking for revenge when they take on the Seahawks this Saturday. Northwood used a late goal in last season's matchup to defeat the Blue and Green 1-0. The Gyrene defense is going to have to slow down Northwood offense which has been led by Theo Stamatopoulos. Stamatopoulos, a senior from Norfolk, England has notched three goals this season for a team leading six points. The Blue and Green are going to have to do battle with the stingy Seahawks defense, which is allowing just over one goal per game in the 2014 season.
