Men's Soccer Downed in Season Finale

Box Score Ave Maria, Fla. -- The Ave Maria University Men's Soccer team took the pitch one last time in 2015 on Friday night as they wrapped up their schedule against Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach. The Sailfish of PBA entered the contest as the 6th ranked team in the NCAA Division II polls with a record of 13-1-1. The Gyrenes, who have shown much improved play throughout the season, welcomed  the challenge of facing a NCAA DII powerhouse to finish the season. 

The green and blue struggled to get their game going against the stout defense and strong offensive attack of PBA. The Sailfish opened the scoring in the 12th minute of the game off of Jermain Metz first score of the season. PBA didn't look back from their, adding 4 more goals before the half. They would go on to score 5 more times in the second half, leaving the final score of 9-0. 

Jose Cruz had the lone shot on goal for Ave Maria while goalkeepers Andrea Salomoe and Michael O'Donnell had 5 and 3 saves respectively.
