WINTER PARK, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's basketball team fell at Rollins, 100-51, on Tuesday night. The Gyrenes drop to 0-5 on the season. AMU has played three NCAA DII opponents this season.
 
Martez Harris led the Gyrenes with 23 points and five rebounds. Johnny Minervino added 11 points for AMU. Exor Torres had eight points and three rebounds.
 
Jeff Merton led four Rollins players in double-figures with 19 points. Mike Bedulskis had a team-high six rebounds to go along with 14 points.
 
Ave shot 32.7 percent from the field and made six of 22 from three. AMU made 11 of 12 from the free throw line. Rollins shot 64.2 percent from the field including making 11 of 25 from behind the arc. Rollins also made 21 of 24 free throw attempts on the night.
 
Both teams shot came out firing in the first half. Rollins came out and made 55.6 percent of their shots in the opening half to take a 47-31 halftime lead on the Gyrenes. Both teams made six threes in the first half.
 
Ave went cold from behind the arc in the second half (0-10) and weren't able to keep up with Rollins who shot 73.1 percent from the field and made five threes in the second half. Rollins outscored AMU 53-20 in the second half to take down AMU 100-51.
 
Ave Maria returns to the court on Tuesday, Nov. 24, when they travel to Daytona Beach to take on NCAA DII Embry-Riddle University in an exhibition match. The game will tip at 7 p.m.
