WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team concluded their 2015 season on Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets at Keiser, 25-13, 25-19, 25-20. The Lady Gyrenes finish the season at 13-19 overall and 1-11 in Sun Conference play.

Lexy Smith led AMU with nine kills followed by Bre Holder with six. Lauren Howell and Hannah Wurster each had five kills for the Lady Gyrenes. Lauren Ruby amassed 17 assists for AMU and had four digs. Monique Rivers had six digs to lead the Blue and Green.

Keiser jumped out to an early lead in the first set, winning the first four point and nine of the first 11 to take a 9-2 lead. After AMU pulled to within four, 15-11, Keiser took nine of the next 10 points to earn a set point at 24-12. The Seahawks won the set 25-13.

The teams exchanged points early on in the second set with the Lady Gyrenes emerging with a slim 10-9 lead. Keiser responded with a five point spurt to take a 14-10 advantage. AMU stayed within a few points before Keiser won five of six points to take a 23-17 lead. Keiser went on to take the second set 25-19 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

In the third set, the Seahawks use a few multi-point spurts to take a 13-7 lead midway through the set. A four-point run a few points later gave Keiser a 19-10 edge. With KU leading 22-15, Ave won five straight points to pull within two, 22-20. Keiser won the final three points of the game to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.

Ave Maria ends the season with a program best 13 wins. The previous record was 12 wins in a season set back in 2012.
