AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria softball team will face a pair of NCAA Division II opponents this weekend when they welcome Eckerd College and the University of Tampa to AMU Softball Field. The Lady Gyrenes will face Eckerd on Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. before taking on 14^th-ranked Tampa on Sunday in a double header beginning at 12 p.m.
 
LADY GYRENES RECAP
 
The Blue and Green swept a doubleheader against Edward Waters last week. The Lady Gyrenes took game one 6-3 and won game two 4-1. AMU currently sits at 4-4 on the season.
 
In game one, Cheyenne Benson pitched five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out five. Jessenia Gonzalez finished the game off for the Lady Gyrenes, allowing three runs on five hits.
 
Emily Lemin picked up the win in game two, pitching seven innings of one-run ball. She allowed six hits and struck out two. The one run allowed was unearned.

Eckerd comes into the weekend with a 9-2 overall record and are currently riding a four-game winning streak. Last weekend, the Tritons swept Palm Beach Atlantic by scores of 9-1 and 5-2.
 
The Tritons are hitting .315 as a team and are led by Sydney Dinelli who is hitting at a .516 clip through 11 games. Of her 16 hits on the season, five have been doubles and she has one home run. She has nine RBIs and five runs scored.
 
In the circle, Eckerd is led by Amber Hay. In nine appearances and seven starts, Hay has pitched six complete games and has a 0.71 ERA on the season. She has 28 strikeouts compared to 10 walks.
 
SCOUTING UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA
 
The University of Tampa comes in with a 6-1 overall record with their only loss coming in their last game, a 13-4 loss against Colorado Christian.
 
The Spartans are led by Meagan Burke. Burke is hitting at a .529 clip so far this season. She has nine hits in 17 at-bats with two doubles, two triples, and two home runs. She also has five RBI and has scored nine runs.
