AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria softball team will face a pair of NCAA Division II opponents this weekend when they welcome Eckerd College and the University of Tampa to AMU Softball Field. The Lady Gyrenes will face Eckerd on Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. before taking on 14
th-ranked Tampa on Sunday in a double header beginning at 12 p.m.

LADY GYRENES RECAPÂ
The Blue and Green swept a doubleheader against Edward Waters last week. The Lady Gyrenes took game one 6-3 and won game two 4-1. AMU currently sits at 4-4 on the season.

In game one, Cheyenne Benson pitched five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out five. Jessenia Gonzalez finished the game off for the Lady Gyrenes, allowing three runs on five hits.

Emily Lemin picked up the win in game two, pitching seven innings of one-run ball. She allowed six hits and struck out two. The one run allowed was unearned.
