Box Score AMU Falls To Embry-Riddle In Rain Shortened DHGame RecapDaytona Beach, FLA – Weather was a factor on Saturday afternoon as the Ave Maria baseball team was only able to play game one of their scheduled Sun Conference double header with Embry-Riddle. The start time was moved up to 11 a.m. in anticipation of the rain. In the game one, the Gyrenes were outdone by the Eagles 7-2 before rain washed away the start of game two.
Austin Comesanas (Miami, Fla.), now 1-2 on the season, took the loss for AMU in his first start of the year. The righty went seven full innings, allowing five earned runs and striking out three.
Bobby Oliver (Naples, Fla.) and Ryan Keegan (Estero, Fla.) combined for the two RBIs on the day for the Gyrenes.
Tobias Moreno (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Kyle Buchanan (Frostproof, Fla.) were the offensive leaders for Embry-Riddle, each adding two hits and two RBIs on the day.
Corey Tufts (Clermont, Fla.) earned the win for the Eagles, going seven innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out nine Ave Maria batters.
