AVE MARIA, Fla. – The Ave Maria University Lady Gyrenes will play two conference games this week. On Wednesday night; the Lady Gyrenes host Embry Riddle at and will then hit the road on Saturday when they take on St. Thomas in Miami Gardens, Fla. at 2 p.m.The Lady Gyrenes are currently 12-11; 3-8 in TSC .
GREEN AND BLUE NEWSThe Ave Maria women's basketball team went 1-1 last week against TSC opponents. AMU was defeated by Johnson & Wales 67-71 in a hard fought game that saw 16 lead changes. In the second game of the week, the Lady Gyrenes defeated Webber International game 81-65. Previously, Webber was second in the conference standings, as the win helps build momentum for the Lady Gyrenes as they go into the last three weeks of the regular season. Lauren Gillingham had a stand out game with 16 points, 12 rebounds (both career highs), and three assists in the win. Annie Artise averaged 17.5 points and nine rebounds. in the two games, while Madison McDonald averaged 17 points, and three assists on the week.

Last week they were defeated by Florida Memorial 83-68. Sabrina White is averaging 11.7 ppg, while Mercedes Jorge is averaging 8.0 rpg to lead the Eagles.
