AVE MARIA, Fla. – The Ave Maria Women's lacrosse team will play two games this week. On Tuesday, the Blue and White play NCAA Division II University of Bridgeport in Kissimmiee, Fla., at ESPN Wide World of Sports at 4 p.m. On Sunday afternoon, the Lady Gyrenes will play NWLL foe Columbia College at North Park at 12 p.m. This will be the last home game of the 2015 season.
AMU lacrosse is currently 2-6 overall; 1-4 in NWLL play.

GREEN AND BLUE NEWSThe Ave Maria Lacrosse team played four games on their spring break trip to West Georgia. The Lady Gyrenes went 2-2, while earning their first win in program history over NWLL foe Truett-McConnell College 22-1. Against Truett McConnell, nine different players scored while 10 different players registered points. Lydia Buckley led the way with four goals while Abby Castro and Kaylin Mayeski each had a hat trick. AMU picked up their second victory in dramatic fashion with a sudden death overtime victory 12-11 over LaGrange College. Buckley scored the game winner and ended with five goals. Goalie, Hannah Camerota had 12 big saves. Point University picked up their second win in two weeks over AMU; 9-8. Turnovers proved to be costly as Castro scored four goals in the loss. The Green and Blue also played NCAA Division II Lees McRae College, losing 22-1. Valeria Tkacik found the back of the net for AMU.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTSBridgeport is currently 3-0 under fifth year head coach, Kate Smullen. The Knights are led by Gabrielle Valela, who is averaging 4.3 goals per game, and one assist. Goalie, Megan Carney is averaging 6.7 saves per game with a 44.7% save percentage. Most recently, Bridgeport defeated Queens (NY) 15-14.
SCOUTING THE KOALASÂ First year head coach Brit Kadlowek has made an immediate impact on this second year program. Columbia is currently 5-2 on the season. The Koalas are led by Kendra Blackstock, Devon Walter, and Tiffany Tortorello.
