Baseball Weekend Preview

Ave Maria, Fla. – On Friday the Ave Maria baseball team will travel up to Lake Wales, Florida for their final Sun Conference Series of 2015. The Gyrenes will be on the campus of Warner University to take on the Royals in a three game set.

Entering the weekend the Gyrenes have find themselves with a 19-31 overall record and a 6-17 mark against Sun Conference opponents. Ave Maria is coming off a weekend in which they suffered a sweep from St. Thomas and were eliminated from conference tournament contention.

 In 2014, AMU took the first game of their series against Warner, before the Royals stormed back to take the next two games and the series. The blue and green will be looking to match their 2014 Sun Conference record with a sweep in their final full weekend of conference play.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS
The Warner University Royals baseball team has compiled a 14-31-1overallred and a 5-17 record in The Sun Conference. WU is coming off a 1-2 weekend against Webber International and being swept at the hands of Embry-Riddle the weekend prior.

Warner's offense currently has a .282 team batting average but has not provided much power this season as the team has combined for only ten home runs on the season. Broderick Rodocker has been a leader for the Royals with his .349 batting average and 26 RBI.

On the mound the Royals have a team ERA north of 7.00 and a batting average against of .318. Blaine Rhea has been one of the arms Warner has relied on as he has appeared in seventeen games and has a 1-1 record with two saves.
