AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team will hit the road on Tuesday to take on Trinity Baptist at 5 p.m. in Jacksonville before returning to Tom Golisano Field House on Thursday for a 6 p.m. tilt with Florida College. The Lady Gyrenes conclude the week with their conference opener at Warner on Friday night.

LADY GYRENES PREVIEWÂ
The Lady Gyrene volleyball team extended its win streak to three matches last week with a pair of wins against Florida National. The Blue and Green defeated the Lady Conquistadors 3-0 on Thursday night at home and then again in straight sets in Hialeah, Fla., on Friday night. AMU is 4-0 on the season against Florida National.

Lexy Smith recorded 16 kills and hit at a .538 clip over four sets played last week. For her efforts, she was named the Sun Conference Attacker of the Week. She currently ranks second in the NAIA in hitting percentage, hitting .416 on the season and 20th in the NAIA in kills per game (3.76) and 24th in blocks per game (1.18).

As a team, the Lady Gyrenes are hitting .223 which ranks 32nd in the nation.

Veronika Garcia and Lauren Ruby continue to pace the Lady Gyrenes from the setter position. Garcia has recorded 161 assists on the season and has posted double digit assists in 10 of the 11 matches this season. She has surpassed 20 assists twice this season. Ruby has tallied 127 assists on the year and recorded a season-best 27 assists in the Lady Gyrenes win over Tougaloo a couple weeks ago.

The Trinity Baptist Lady Eagles come into the matchup Tuesday night still in search of their first win of the season. They are 0-4 on the year after falling in straight sets to Edward Waters, Trinity College, and twice to Toccoa Falls.

The Lady Gyrenes welcome in a tough non-conference test to Tom Golisano Field House on Thursday night in Florida College. The Lady Falcons won their first six matches of the year, including a five-set win over Keiser University of Northwood, before falling in five sets to Southeastern University.

In the two games against Sun Conference opponents, Rachel Tharp has led the offensive attack for the Lady Falcons. She tallied 18 kills against Keiser and 17 kills against Southeastern. Abbie Worsfold and Savannah Gorman also recorded double-digit hills in both of those matches. Worsfold also finished with five aces against Keiser and Southeastern while Gorman finished with seven blocks.

Warner comes into the week with a 5-4 overall record with three of those losses coming against teams that were ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA top-25 poll at the time they played. This will be the Sun Conference opener for both teams.

The Lady Royals are led by Adrienne Czaplewski who has totaled 111 kills over 33 sets played this season. She also has 86 digs. Breeanna Navarro is another player to watch for Warner, She has 77 kills and a team-leading 30 total blocks on the season. Jenna Swaffer leads the team in assists with 204.
