Bluffton, S.C. --- The Ave Maria women's soccer team fell to the University of South Carolina Beaufort 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in a conference matchup. AMU falls to 2-3 on the year and to 0-1 in TSC play.

Hayley Pina got the scoring started for USCB with a goal 5:53 into the game. She added her second goal of the game seven minutes later off an assist by Poppy Miller and Alexandria Radue to make the score 2-0 in favor of USCB.

With Ave Maria trailing 2-0 at the half, Eryn Decker scored to open the second stanza to put the Gyrenes behind 3-0 in the 53rd minute. Pina completed the hat trick for USCB with a goal in the 60th minute to bring the score to 4-0.

Ave Maria was outshot 21-5. USCB had 13 shots on goal compared to four by AMU.

Alexia Mazzoccone had two shots, one of which came on goal. Anne Bateman, Anna Koerner, and Katie Trudeau each added a shot on goal.

Francesca Singleton made four saves in the loss. Randi Anzek got the win for USCB after making four saves on the afternoon.

The Lady Gyrenes return to action on Wednesday when they welcome Johnson & Wales to Ave Maria for a 4 p.m. start.
