AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's soccer team and Webber International battled in a scoreless game for over 85 minutes before a goal by the Warriors in the 86th minute gave them the 1-0 win.

It was a tale of two halves as Ave Maria controlled most of the first half, outshooting Webber 15-4, 9-1 on goal, but the Gyrenes were unable to get a shot past the Webber netminder. In the second, Webber went on the offensive and out-shot AMU 20-5, 11-2 on frame.

Webber eventually got one past Andrea Salomone in net, when Tim Stanford scored from the top of the box.

Salomone made 12 saves and allowed just one goal in net in the loss.

Julian David Cruz and Jeff Henkel each had five shots on the afternoon with three of Cruz's on net and two of Henkel's on frame.

Ave Maria returns to action on Saturday when they host SCAD at 2 p.m.
