ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The Ave Maria Women's Basketball team concluded their four-game Chicago trip with a win on Saturday night, a 90-54 victory at Robert Morris. The Lady Gyrenes finish the trip with a 2-2 record.

Lauren Gillingham led the Lady Gyrenes with a near triple-double with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists. Jasmin Bateman added a team-high 23 points while Erin Landis finished with 15 points.

The Blue and Green shot 42.3 percent from the field and made 18-of-23 from the free throw line. The Lady Gyrene defense outrebounded Robert Morris 56-40 and held RMU to 27.4 percent shooting from the field. AMU also forced 18 turnovers and committed just nine in the win.

Ave Maria made four of their first five shots to jump out to an early 8-1 lead. AMU was able to maintain that advantage the rest of the quarter and held a 24-16 lead after one. Katie Ringdahl quickly extended that lead to double-figures, 27-16, with a three on AMU's first possession of the second quarter. Late in the second quarter, Kandice Smith and Macarena Corral each hit a three to extend the Gyrenes edge to 19, 46-27, an advantage they held until the half.

AMU outscored Robert Morris 23-20 in the third quarter to maintain their lead and then used a lockdown defensive effort in the fourth quarter to outscore the Eagles 19-5 in the final stanza to close out the game.

The Lady Gyrenes return to Ave Maria for their home and conference opener on Thursday night against Southeastern at 7 p.m.
