Box Score FORT MYERS, Fla. --- The Ave Maria Men's Basketball team fell in Alico Arena on Tuesday night, 120-60, against NCAA Division-I FGCU. The game was an exhibition for the Gyrenes who stay at 2-4 on the season.

Exor Torres led the Gyrenes with 14 points. Deonte Davis added 13 points followed by Tejai Allen with 12. Allen led AMU with six rebounds. Off the bench, Eric Richardson and Michael O'Donnell each had five points.

FGCU came out firing to jump out to a quick 16-0 lead. Ave Maria got on the board at the 13:07 mark in the first half when Bates hit a three to make it 16-3. The Eagles strung together a few more runs in the first half to take a 53-20 lead into the half.

FGCU shot 68.8 percent from the field in the first half and made seven from three. The Gyrenes struggle from the field, 6-of-28, in the opening half but were 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

The Eagles began the second half by making eight of their first nine shots to push the score to 75-31 at the first media timeout (15:38). Dixon had a pair of and-ones and a three in the early part of the second half as the Gyrenes shot the ball better in the early part of the second half and were shooting over 40 percent from the floor over the first 12 minutes. FGCU would go on to win 120-60.

Ave Maria shot 40 percent in the second half including five threes. The Gyrenes shot 31.7 percent from the field for the game and were 8-of-31 from three.

The 60 points is the second most that the Gyrenes have scored against FGCU. This was the sixth meeting between the two teams. AMU is 0-6 all-time against their NCAA Division-I neighbor.

FGCU shot 67.1 from the field for the game. They made 11 of their 21 attempts from three. FGCU outrebounded the Gyrenes 45-27.
